How many hours before filters must be replaced? I've been experimenting for years with different diy types of fume extraction, and it's been very costly due to filter costs and how quickly they get clogged.
No filters are needed except for the activated charcoals. It is water that needs to be changed once in a while.

It is hard to tell because I don't know how much you cut LoL! My rough guess will be 3~4 months if you are cutting 1-2 hours a day.

It all depends on how much room is available for the laser head to park or to mount. My system works independently of any controller. It is a standalone system.

@@RCjunkie $1450 with three times mounting bracket fribricatuon free of charge. But you need to provide dimensions and pay for the shipping. We laser cut it. Other parts that you need: a two phase motor driver, a mirror and a lens.

Does the controller allows for pressure sensors for head crash avoidance? Or maybe conductivity to laserhead from material would trigger estop to protect it.

What type of system drives this machine? Belt or rack and pinion?
The old one was rack-pinion on Y axis. The new one is rack-pinion on both X and Y. Plus, it is servo motors instead of steppers.

Can nitrogen be used for stainless instead of Oxygen?
If the laser tube is powerful enough and the stainless steel is thin enough, yes you can do it.
This looks like more to fail than belt drive. Nice idea though. Good for heavy stuff.
